Cynosure Technologies

Staffing

Vetted senior engineers, placed under our name. Not yours.

Half of what we do is staffing. The people we send are W-2 to Cynosure, vetted by people who have done the work, and meant to outlast the engagement.

How we think about staffing.

Most staffing firms run on volume. Pull resumes off a job board, run them through a low-friction screen, send a stack of five. The economics demand it.

Our model is different. We carry a small bench of engineers we have personally interviewed, often hired more than once, and would put on our own systems without hesitation. We send two or three candidates, not eight. We tell you honestly when we don't have someone right and you should look elsewhere.

The trade-off is fewer placements per quarter and more renewals. That trade-off is the entire firm in microcosm.

The three ways we engage

Model 01

Contract

Our consultants on engagement with you.

Full-time Cynosure employees on assignment. We carry benefits, payroll, insurance, and ongoing performance management. You get an engineer who shows up Monday morning and treats your engagement like their job, because it is. Standard rates published; volume terms negotiable; no surprise pass-through markups.

  • Engagements from three months to multi-year
  • W-2 to Cynosure, never 1099, never C2C unless you specifically ask
  • Background check, tech screen, and reference work completed before submission
  • Replacement guaranteed in writing for the first 30 days
Model 02

Contract-to-hire

Try before you commit.

Three or six months of paid evaluation. If you want to convert at the end, you do β€” at a published buyout schedule. If you don't, the consultant rolls back to our bench and we both move on without bad feeling. It's the lowest-risk way to hire someone you can't fully evaluate from a forty-five-minute interview.

  • Standard 3- or 6-month evaluation windows
  • Conversion buyout published in advance; no negotiation theater
  • Same vetting standard as our long-term contract engagements
Model 03

Direct-hire

Retained or contingent search.

When you need someone in a seat permanently and the role is hard, we run a search. We charge a flat fee, not a percentage of salary β€” we don't want our incentives misaligned with yours. The replacement guarantee runs ninety days. We do this for senior engineering, architecture, security, and platform-leadership roles.

  • Flat fee, not a percentage of comp
  • Replacement guarantee in writing, 90 days
  • Senior individual-contributor and leadership roles

Government

Government staffing β€” Texas DIR ITSAC and South Carolina ITSAC

We are an awarded prime on the Texas Department of Information Resources ITSAC vehicle and the South Carolina ITSAC vehicle. Agencies in either state can engage us directly through those contracts without a separate procurement. The job-category coverage is broad; the rate cards are pre-negotiated.

Partners

Sub-contracting and partner work

If you're a prime on a contract we'd be a good sub on, or a national MSP looking for U.S.-based capacity, we're a useful partner. Small enough to be flexible, long enough in business to be reliable. We work both sides of the table.
